About Us

Our Mission

Trouver was born out of frustration with how broken restaurant search has become. Today’s platforms are cluttered with sponsorships, ads, and algorithmic shortcuts that prioritize monetization over meaning. The result is a search experience that feels shallow, noisy, and technically underpowered, often failing to reflect what actually matters when choosing where to eat.

We are building a fundamentally different kind of restaurant search engine, one that is human in its understanding, precise in its classification, and rigorous in its evaluation.

At its core, Trouver organizes restaurants around structured, meaningful dimensions: taste, service, value, price, nutrition, authenticity, and noise level. This added granularity and dimensional structure is intentional. It gives users significantly greater control over how they define and prioritize their preferences, allowing search results to adapt to what they actually care about rather than forcing them into rigid, one-size-fits-all rankings. In parallel, we maintain a highly granular taxonomy of cuisines, ensuring that search is not only relevant but properly contextualized at a culinary level of detail.

Our mission is simple: maximize search fidelity. Results should reflect real-world quality and user intent, not advertising budgets or promotional placement. By stripping out commercial distortion and replacing it with structured, multidimensional understanding, Trouver aims to make restaurant discovery both more accurate and more useful.
